11th August 2024 , Rajiv Gandhi International stadium (Raipur) Dehradun
Around 126 Cambrianites, members of the CH Alumni community from across the globe and its ex-teachers in Dehradun, have planted over 550 saplings in the midst of the monsoon season as part of their pledge towards Green Dehradun.
Unfortunately, in the race of progress and growth our beautiful city is losing it’s old charm and fast moving towards becoming a concrete jungle. Hence this plantation drive is a small step towards greening of Dehradun”
At the outset the CHAA set itself a humble target by pledging 250 trees from our community, however, to our delight, the Cambrianites community across the world came together with great enthusiasm and we more than doubled our pledge with 550 trees, that too in a record 72 hours of a digital campaign.
This campaign, in collaboration with the Uttarakhand Forest Department, is not just a planting exercise, but the CHAA is committed to nurturing and caring for the saplings for the next three years to ensure their survival and optimum growth.
The participants gathered at Rajiv Gandhi International stadium (Raipur) to plant various trees, namely, Amla (Indian gooseberry), Amaltas, GulMohor & Mango in collaboration with the Raipur Forest Range Office.

Shabnam Singh, Vice President CHAA, formally welcomed everyone and shared updates about CHAA and its objectives and initiatives. Capt Satinder Chadha, did the honours of handing over life members badges to all those who had become life members in the previous meet.
The most exciting part of the meet was the Raffle ticket. The amount raised via Raffle was doubled by Capt Chadha as a very generous gesture. In total we raised Rs 131,000/- which was transferred to CHAA bank account.
We urge Cambrianites across the world to initiate a similar chapter in their location and the managing team of CHAA will be more than happy to lend support and reach out to Cambrianites in their geographical location.

The Shugan Farms, Dehradun
It was a fun afternoon at The Shugan Farms, Dehradun. We played colours, danced to lively music , enjoyed delicious Chaat, Gol gappe, Aloo Tikki, fresh Chholey Bhature, Gujiya and refreshing Jal jeera.
The best part of the event was that it was well attended by Cambrianites from various batches including senior batches from class of 1968, 1969 to the youngest ones from the class of 2024.
The event became all the more special as we formally welcomed the class of 2024 into the CH Alumni family. A formal letter of introduction and a CH Alumni badge was presented to each of the youngest CH Alumni members by the senior most alumni member as part of induction.
The Holi Milan, has been a new addition to our Alumni events this year, and we plan to make it an annual one !
Our special thanks to Gaurav Aggarwal, class of 1996 who was kind enough to sponsor the event. Also Avinash Rahul, Class of 2012 who led the initiative on behalf of CH Alumni Managing team.
Wishing all Cambrianites and their families a very Happy and colourful Holi.
